About
PJ Plumbing, Heating & Maintenance Ltd is a family-run company, originally founded by Peter Jarrett in 2000 as a sole trader and becoming a Limited company in 2003.
The business began in a bedroom of the family home, with Peter carrying out all works himself. Over the first ten years, he worked hard to build strong relationships with customers and gradually expanded the workforce.
As the company grew, Peter’s wife Tracey joined the team, taking on the accounts and office administration. The business continued to grow through word of mouth, as Peter’s reputation for quality and reliability spread.
At 16, Peter and Tracey’s son, Lee, joined the company as an apprentice. After qualifying as a plumber, Lee gained hands-on experience and gradually worked his way through various roles. He is now the company’s main estimator and contracts manager.
The Journey Behind the Business
As demand increased, a small office was built at the back of the family home to support the growing admin team. In 2015, a significant milestone in the company’s journey came with the move into a dedicated unit at Hellesdon Park Industrial Estate in Norwich. This space became the company’s home for the next decade, supporting sustained growth, innovation, and the strengthening of its team and services. In 2026, the journey reached an exciting new chapter with the move into their new office in Drayton - designed and renovated into the perfect space to support future ambitions and reflect how far the company has come.
Peter and Tracey retired in 2019 and now enjoy looking after their four grandchildren, socialising, and going on trips. Today, the company is run by their son Lee and daughter-in-law Charlotte, continuing the family legacy.
Over the past 25 years, the business has evolved to focus primarily on the commercial sector, delivering projects across Norfolk and Suffolk — including schools, care homes, shops, and medical centres. The team now includes over 30 staff, made up of office personnel, contracts managers, apprentices, engineers, and site supervisors.
While the scale and nature of the work has changed over the years, PJ Plumbing, Heating & Maintenance Ltd has always remained true to its family values — taking pride in the work we do and maintaining high standards across every project.
We’ve also made a commitment to doing our bit for the planet. As of January 2022, PJ Plumbing, Heating & Maintenance Ltd is a Carbon Neutral company, investing in climate offsetting projects and taking steps to reduce our footprint wherever we can.
